CSS Together: An Introduction
I, Ejaz, Qamar, Mohsin and Arif have decided upon preparing for the Central Superior Services exams, which is an annual job exam for the Civil Cervices postings, starting from Grade 17. Both highly reputable and tightly secure, CSS attracts hundreds of aspirants from all over Pakistan every year; similarly, we are no exceptions. Though our motives differ - I, for one, want to see if I am capable of passing this exam that has become a hallmark for checking if one has got it or not, whereas Arif's intention most likely would be to clear it and get wroking, and Qamar and Mohsin would certainly have their own driving narratives - the common and ultimate goal is to be fully prepared for the next year, 2022's, exam and give it all we've got.
Thoughts aside, the practical plan is to start a combined preparation for the six compulsory papers, which make up for 600 marks (total 1200), since all these papers would be same for each of the members. Pak Affairs, Current Affair, Gen Knowlege, and Gen Sciences are the subjects that we would be covered respectively; whereas the remaining two subjects, English Essay and English Precise and Comprehension would be covered in writing weekly essays and precise about the subject currently being covered.
Starting from March 2021, we'd have a total of eight months before the applications open for 2022 exams in October (total of 32 weeks), and another four months (16 more weeks) till the actual exams February 2020. Till Oct, our plan is to study both the compulsory and selective papers through 'a building perspective' method, which is: to study, comprehensively, about all the subjects in order to build a perspective about the totality of the subject matter, but without getting lost in the details.
Come Oct of this year, each of us would know if we are prepared enough, or at least ready enough, to apply for next year's exams. If so, hopefully, the next term of preparation would be more rigorous, starting from Oct onwards, after the applications have been submitted.
This platform is particulary made available for the storing, reviewing, and improving on the writing skills, since writing would be the ultimate decider for the written exams. Sunday being the deadline for each week, every member has to write an essay on the subject (or book) he's currently studying, and then write a precise of that same essay. Then it would be read and reviewd by other members, all for the sake of improving in realm of writing, as much as we can, till the exams of 2022.
With that said, all of this is tentaive, and changes could be made going forward. Nonetheless, the key factor in the success of this preparation would be 'consistency and participation'. I hope and expect from myself and all the members of CSSTogether that we would stick together and help each other out on this journey. As the late spiritual teacher Ram Dass once said, 'We are walking each other home'.
Good Luck and God Bless!
Motivative, encouraging, and binding. I hope we reach to the end of the line! High times. Fingers crossed.
